Great Angels Choir launches festival for women, girls-Malawi Music Downloader

The Great Angels Choir has announced an annual festival for women and girls beginning this October.

The choir’s music director Ephraim Zonda said the two-day is set for October 15 to 16 at Sunbird Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi District.

“This festival is a first of its kind. It targets women and girls and we hope it will turn into an epic annual celebration characterised by music, food and other recreation activities such as gymnastics, sports and leadership,” he said.

Zonda said they were inspired by other initiatives aimed at serving women such as Nation Publications Limited (NPL) Mother’s Fun Run.

“NPL did great by introducing the Mother’s Fun Run. It is a huge step towards promoting mothers. We have been following the initiative and we thought as a choir we can come up with our own celebration of women in form of a festival,” he said.

Zonda further said what is unique about the festival is a leadership session where female leaders will inspire young women and girls.

“We believe this will be an incredible platform where girls and young women will learn leadership tips apart from being entertained,” he said.

Zonda, therefore, encouraged women and girls to participate in the fete dubbed Nzayaweh Pamchenga Festival.

Musicians such as ‘Soldier’ Lucius Banda, Skeffa Chimoto, Thocco Katimba, Mlaka Maliro, Ndirande Anglican Voices, Gwamba and Driemo will entertain.

On his part, Katimba said his fans should expect the best. “Mothers in the country deserve the best experience on their day. And as Thocco Katimba, I am looking forward to a great show,” he said.
