Saint’s Ah Yami album gets positive reactions-Malawi Music Downloader

Fans who attended a listening session for Saint’s Ah Yami album on Saturday in Blantyre have hailed the recording as a great improvement to his previous work and a trendy drift in his genre.

The Afro-beat singer, whose real name is Yamikani Chikwawe, took the fun seekers gathered at Amaryllis Hotel’s Stakeout Bar and Restaurant by storm.

With his silk voice that previously was only known for reggae-dancehall, Saint teased the chilled patrons with some of his biggest hits such as Delilah and Ntenga Moyo before he served them with latest hits from Ah Yami, including Pillow, Una and Falling.

And as he glided to his own sound, the joyful audience, made up mostly of young ladies, could be heard singing along throughout the ecstatic performance that lasted into the late evening.

Two good guitarists, a drummer and men manning the turn tables was enough to pull up a harmony that seemed to agree to the belief that Saint is one of the biggest artists in Malawi at the moment.

“I think it is one of the best albums in Malawi right now. I feel like he is a great composer and his lyrics hit home,” said Harriet Chamanza, who seemed captivated with the performance.

Another fan at the listening session, Thandiwe Singini gave the album a rating of 9 out of 10. She revealed that she enjoys Too Much, Una and Tate among others.

Onesimus, Macelba, Sispence and Jai Banda were some of the notable faces in show business that attended the session.

Commenting on the album, Macelba said he felt Ah Yami has been well produced and encouraged Saint to consistently move with the trends in music.

Renowned music promoter Jai Banda praised the album saying it appeals more to the present generation and added that the singer is on a right path.

After an energetic performance, Saint said: “In this album just wanted to express my life. Talk about what I feel and let my thoughts come out naturally.”
