The tone for the summer entertainment events has been set and this weekend will witness several of events lined up across the country.
Topping the bill is the performance of Zambia’s Yo Maps who will perform at Comesa Hall in Blantyre on Sunday. The Zambian will be joined by artists such as Zeze Kingston, Kell Kay, Tay Grin and Saint.
Speaking in an interview from Lusaka, Zambian, the Kondwa hitmaker called Malawi his second home.
“I have been there before, but the game has changed now. This time my fans will see something different. Further to that, I want to thank Malawians for their support and on Sunday let us sing Kondwa together,” said Yo Maps.
The show has been organised by Sound Addicts who also brought the Zambian artist to Malawi two months ago.
Meanwhile, gospel hip-hop artist Gwamba and the rising duo of AidFest and Kineo will perform at DMI in Mangochi today. The event has been organised by Beerland Festival.
Beerland Festival director Kennedy Maluwa said they are bringing to Mangochi rare and unique kind of entertainment.
He said: “The artists we have taken on board are some of the hottest acts of the moment. It is not every day that such names perform in places such as Mangochi.”
Also taking place in Blantyre this evening is the Warm Heart Night of Praise at Comesa Hall organised by entertainment stable Five79.
Five79 director Wisdom Phanga said of the event: “We have been requested to hold gospel events for some time and we never considered it. We have realised the demand for such shows is high.”
On Saturday, Eli Njuchi and Zeze Kingston will make a rare visit to Mchinji where they will perform at Chill Spot under the City Life Entertainment banner.
Organiser of the show Isaac Dangaliro said people should expect a different experience since it will be a live performance.
